Summer is fading fast

The rain just got AJ and I on our walk. She is rolling around on the rug trying to get dry.

This is the last Sunday without the NFL this year. It opens up in a big way next week with the Bengals defending The AFC Championship against their arch rivals The Steelers. This should be a great year as the legend of Joe Burrow builds.

Marshall got their season off right stomping Norfolk State. They opened up with a great party, Thunder Street, and the weather was awesome for tailgating.

Now, The Herd heads to South Bend to challenge legendary Notre Dame. The Irish hung tough in Columbus yesterday, but opened up with a 21-10 loss to The Ohio State.

For those wondering, ex Marshall quarterback Grant Wells stumbled in his debut. He threw four interceptions as Virginia Tech was upset by Old Dominion 20-17.

The Summer is ending with a flurry of events. Yesterday featured a Hawaiian Luau at Harris Riverfront Park and the 12th Annual Huntington Music and Arts Festival at TheRitter Park Amplitheatre.

Tonight is the Cruise Avenue Reunion in Downtown Huntington. Cruise 4th Avenue like the old days from 6pm to 10.

I’m excited about my 59th birthday on September 17. That weekend will feature two great events. Funktafest is on my birthday at Ritter Park from 11:30 to 10. I really want to see The MFB. Their video, Big Booty Judy is awesome. See it here
